About Us

How we work

Our first contact is usually from either a phone call or email.

We will take an initial brief of what your project entails.  It doesn't matter if your enquiry is for a small ottoman for  the end of the bed or a large cinema room sofas, all projects receive the same commitment and attention to detail, so we can  start to put together some design concepts together and discuss these with you.

Depending on the nature of the project, we can arrange a home consultation visit, so we can properly discuss your commission in the relevant environment.  We will have taken an initial brief from you, and will bring along sampling and examples of our work.

We will then go back to our Studio and start to put together design ideas, costing out various options and putting together fabrics, designs and options for your consideration.

Who are we

Our experience comes from four generations of Master Upholsterers.  Our roots are based in Fleet in Hampshire, where Harris Upholstery, then C Harris started in 1918.  Over the years the company grew, developed and changed.   From Upholsters and Cabinet Makers, each generation bought its own influences and drive and the business changed over the generations to meet the demands and needs of its customers.

In the late 1980's we started to make upholstered furniture.  Using our knowledge of how furniture was put together, we started to produce our own range of designs.  In the 1990's this started to expand out to building furniture to the size that customers wanted and naturally progressed in the coming years to making bespoke individually commissioned upholstery.

In 2013 we moved the workshops to South West Scotland to concentrate on this core area of our business.   We travel throughout the UK for our work and have worked in Europe and beyond.
